Our Story
Kozroots Community Empowerment Project is a non-profit organization that founded SHIP in the spring of 2025 on Prince Edward Island. Before launching SHIP, we asked seniors which services could benefit them that currently do not exist or have hurdles to obtaining. Our team thoroughly researched current public and private senior services. Combining those findings with these answers, we developed our service model and standards of care. Our program is intended to remove barriers to accessing these services by offering support in navigating the systems currently available, in conjunction with offering services we have built with our team that take a person-centered, trauma-informed approach free of judgement and prejudice.
Our Services
We offer a wide scope of services that can help both in and outside the home. In-home support services include household chores (housekeeping, laundry, organization) and personal care (non-medical personal assistance, meal preparation, friendly companionship). Services offered outside of the home include shopping, running errands, navigating technology and online services and programs, transportation to appointments, events, or social outings. Our team of skilled professionals is dedicated to providing personalized senior home care to the people we serve.
Our Approach
At Seniors' Home Independence Program, we believe in taking a holistic approach to senior home care services. We understand that each client requires unique in-home support services, and we work closely with them and their families to develop customized care plans that address their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being through comprehensive senior support services.
